About SFBD

The French Society of Developmental Biology unites over 20 years researchers working in the field of Biology of animal or plant development. It aims to promote research in the fields of descriptive and experimental embryology, the differentiation of post-embryonic development, growth, regeneration, teratology and genetics among all living multicellular, regardless of the techniques used. The SFBD also work to facilitate the exchange of ideas and resources within the scientific community. The SFBD is also a member of the International Society of Developmental Biologists (ISDB). Each year the SFBD organizes an annual symposium in France. Particular attention is given to young researchers. Registration fees are relatively low in conferences, allowing them to participate in lower cost to a scientific conference. In addition, for several years, the SFBD set up a travel scholarship program for doctoral thesis at the end of allowing them to cover part of the costs of a convention abroad. Once a year the company also attributes the tirix for the best thesis in developmental biology. The SFBD tries to disseminate all the information of interest to members via e-mailing a newsletter and by posting on the website.
